A local group is working to reduce the amount of trash in landfills, and increase the number of fish of the coasts of Nassau, Duval and St. John's Counties. In July, the group arranged for nearly 700 tons of concrete from a housing development on Atlantic Boulevard to be taken by barge 12 miles off the coat of Ponte Vedra.

The Pinehurst mountain bike trail attracts hundreds of cyclists every year. Richard Anderson said he loves to take his two boys on weekends rides. "It's good exercise and this particular park is so important because it's heavily forested," Anderson said. The mountain bike trail is 4-5 miles.

Clay County deputies need your help finding car burglar. The Clay County Sheriff's Office said three purses, a wallet and $200 were stolen from the two cars. They also said there was another man who noticed someone tried to pry his door open.
Gone, but not forgotten. Friday a homeless veteran was the recipient of full military honors at her funeral. All of the men and women buried at the Jacksonville National Cemetery have served our country, but not all of them have friends or family who attend their funeral.
